One of the most significant religious sites in Ayodhya is the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, which marks the spot where Lord Rama is born. The temple has been a subject of controversy and legal battles due to the disputed structure that stood on the site. However, in 2019, the Supreme Court of India settled the dispute, allowing for the construction of a grand temple dedicated to Lord Rama.

Apart from its spiritual significance, Ayodhya is also known for its exquisite architecture. The city is adorned with numerous temples and structures that showcase the rich architectural heritage of ancient India. Some of the notable sites include:
Hanuman Garhi: This massive temple complex is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, the loyal devotee of Lord Rama. With its distinct four-sided fort-like design, it attracts numerous devotees throughout the year.
Kanak Bhawan: Built by Queen Kaikeyi, the stepmother of Lord Rama, Kanak Bhawan is a beautiful temple adorned with ornate decorations. It is believed to be the place where Lord Rama and his consort Sita spent a significant part of their married life.
Treta Ke Thakur: Situated on the banks of the Sarayu River, Treta Ke Thakur temple is dedicated to Lord Rama. It is believed to be the spot where Lord Rama performed the Ashwamedha Yajna.

Ayodhya had 2 lakh tourists in 2017 and 2.03 crore tourists in 2022 which represents a 200% growth per year and annual tourism growth rate is approximately 162%
